The full set of Palmers beers with plenty of other options and it's a big old friendly handsome quirky Boozer with nice soft lighting and live music even on Sunday afternoons. The pictures and objects on the wall including rock memorabilia look expensive. There are loads of comfy odd chairs and tables in which you can hide or show off at your own pleasure and there are seats out the back for smokers and fresh airers. The food is reasonable, tasty and traditional and the toilets are near and well kept. It's the best pub in Wessex because it not only ticks all the boxes it feels like every great pub should be. A refuge from the workaday world a light in the darkness with good cheers and bonhomie a reliable port in a storm.
