I came with a friend into the west end markets and knew there was at least one stall where I could get vegan food. after I went to the markets, I noticed. it is not particularly well signed, they can easily miss it. I'm glad I didn't miss it. how often the problem when looking for vegan places was the problem of narrowing what I wanted to order. I decided to go traditionally and had a no-wood cake and a vegan dagwood dog. the man who served me made sure that I was not among any illusions that what I ordered was healthy; I didn't. it was also cheap. I didn't pay anymore when I paid for the non-vegan versions in a bakery. both the things I had eaten from there were delicious. it's been a long time since I had the right thing, but I'm sure that the cake was just as good if not better than any cake I had in my life. the same applies to the Dagwood dog. if you are looking for a noble, health-conscious meal, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for traditional Australian unhealthy but tasty food, then they will not go on. I know that next time on Saturday I'm in the west, that'll be my lunch.
I first came over Ykillamoocow products at the food Co-op to griffith uni nathan. they had the pumpkin and the best roles as well as the no bull pees (my favorite). since I stopped studying there, I hadn't been able to do any (I'm working on weekends) but the owner delivered me a lot on Friday! the best day of all time! the food they do is delicious. not all vegan, but ask how they know what vegan actually means. the price is great and eating is excellent.
This guy is super friendly and awesome- his pies are good (not the best I've ever eaten but still a great pie). First time we went at 11:30 and he was sold out except a few samosas, so we returned following weekend. So if you are in town for just one weekend, GO EARLY to avoid disappointment! We returned so early I ended up eating one for breakfast, haha! The samosas are good and so was the pumpkin barley roll.
Unfortunately the steamed dumplings are not available anymore but the fabulous samosas, pies, hotdogs etc. are still there. Love this stall.
