I saw this food truck in Oxnard and turned around to give it a try. I was really excited up until I had received the food. I had ordered a Connecticut roll, a Maine lobster roll, and a lobster bisque. The Connecticut role was cold, the Maine Roll was soggy, and the Soup was absolutely terrible and had a funky smell. All of the food was bland and I was left unimpressed. I used to live in Rhode Island and I have been a Lobster fanatic all my life, but this was just not worth the $70 that was spent on it.
We love this place! Connecticut Rolls are our fave with the lobster tacos a close second.
I am a usual customer here and today the bisque I ordered was very watered down and had literally no lobster. I previously always ordered the lobster bisque and never had this issue. I honestly probably never coming back. I was a customer during quarantine and up until now. I understand supplies might be expensive but it’s no excuse to have a serious reduction in quality
As someone from New England, expectations were set low knowing that I wouldn't get the same quality and style of New England lobster rolls out here on the west coast. This place didn't disappoint though! The lobster was sweet and decently priced at $21 a roll. The main lobster roll (the one w/mayo) was a bit strange as it was just straight mayo on the bun instead of the lobster being tossed in it. The Connecticut lobster was like any other CT lobster roll in warm butter. I was unsure going in about the fried clams as it seems to be difficult to get them right on the west coast. They were pretty decent though! A bit too much breading but at least there was an actual clam inside!
