Archer?s is THE place to go for quintessential Knoxville ribs! Their dry rub cannot be beat, and their classic sauce is always the best match. The ribs are meaty and the fat is always evenly cooked in. If you?re into brisket, stop by early on Fridays orSaturdays and you?re sure to be delighted! We usually get a full rack of ribs to share with the family, as well as a pound ofone other meat, depending upon what we all feel like. This particular location can be a bit tricky to access if Kingston Pikeis busy, but it?s well worth it. Inside you?ll find the friendliest staff and classic no-nonsense furnishings that are a suresign of the real thing.
Good food, nice smoked flavors, good sides. I loved the ribs, good texture while cleanly coming off the bone. I wish there was little more meat on the two ribs that come with the plate, but taste wise very good. Potato salad was also very good.
Store closed sign in window. Hours posted said it should be open. I started to leave but saw movement inside and decided to see. Enjoyed employees friendliness, out of ribs but it was late on 4th of July and I decided to go with BBQ pork sandwich plate withbaked beans and jalapeno pimento sides. Sides tasted better than any other BBQ place I've been to. I think M&M catering hasbetter flavor pork sandwich. I'll have to go back and try ribs. Overall I enjoyed the food and service. Price was good too.
The restaurant looked clean. The brisket had good flavor and texture. As well it appeared to have a smoke ring. The (4) stars; as far as the meat is concerned, you get an A. The Memphis sauce wasn't quite what I hoped it might be, but that's just myopinion. Customer service is where a little effort could be pushed. When I went to get my drink for my to go order, no ice. Theyoung man said the ice machine hadn't worked for a bit; ok warm Coke. As I'm getting down the road enjoying my sandwich I cameto inevitable of Bar-B-Que, I needed a napkin; and there were none. It certainly would have been handy for that young man tothrow a couple in there for me, B-. Finally my last point; I've noticed more places are asking for gratuity with the ticket evenbefore I've had a chance to fully assess the the food and service. I threw those fellas a couple of bucks, but never again. Youwant a tip from.me earn it. I've worked in food service, I'll typically tip at least 20
