Highlander Deli - West Milford

It's almost 2023, and this deli only accepts cash. They do have an ATM, but they charge a hefty fee for withdrawals, just so you can spend that money at their establishment. I can only imagine how many customers they lose and never come back because they can't be bothered to accept credit or debit cards.

Highlander boasts attentive staff who always keep an eye on their delightful layered sandwiches. They take pride in their traditional methods, ensuring that they provide top-notch ingredients to their customers. Using excellent bread and high-quality processes, they create delicious sandwiches topped with freshly cut vegetables, authentic meats, and salads. It’s a wonderful experience that honors classic recipes while delivering fresh, flavorful food.

The sandwiches and coffee are delicious. The service is excellent, and the staff is warm and welcoming.

Does Taylor ham, egg, and cheese ring a bell? Super unique sandwich menu, too. The town high school team is the Highlanders, and the sandwiches are named after teachers, coaches, and things in school. Those sandwiches may have been those people's preferred invention, and/or discovery.
