Hook Reel Cajun Seafood - West Orange

Went here to celebrate my Birthday, I really enjoyed my seafood boil bag. Everything was smoking hot... Hotter than some of the other restaurants that I've tried like this. The waitress was very attentive. The decor was nice... I think This Hook and Reel will be my go to now.

Good vibes at Hook Reel! Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was good. I got the fried shrimp personally. I thought the size of the shrimps were good size and had a nice crispy bite! I tried the catfish, which I thought was also very good. They do a really good just with the frying. Some places you go and there are burnt pieces, that's not the case here. We also got the sangria and it was pretty good too. There also a lot of parking, so that made it easy to get in and out. Price wise you won't break the bank here. Overall I give Hook Reel a 3 out of 5.

The first time I experienced it, it felt very bad. The food was not fresh. After eating, my wife had a stomachache. She has a baby who needs breast milk. I am worried about her health?

So delicious! First seafood boil and I am hooked. The shrimp, crawfish. And snow crab was delicious and the hook and reel spice mix was superb on the seafood. The potatoes and corn inside the bag were not overcooked and were very tasty. The coppa pistachio (pistachio Gelato with candied pistachios and chocolate syrup) was creamy and the perfect end to the meal. My waitress was so sweet and friendly, it was nice to chat a bit. Very relaxed atmosphere and great jams overhead. Such a great spot and can't wait to visit again!

All my other food was great as usual but?.. the paella rice I ordered should be called squid rice. As you can see no seafood except squid not cool to call it paella and it?s clearly not! I want my money back!
