Could have used some pickles on the sandwich. BBQ sauce tasted just like Ken?s BBQ. Fries were an afterthought, although fried nice and crispy. The pizza was a little cooked. Again, food is really not bad, but did not seem like what would be served by a place that identified as BBQ spot.
This place is great. I've been visiting for over 30 years and it keeps its character and its great food. The new owners seem passionate and attentive. You have also made some nice upgrades to the bar and toilets. The Yankee Smokehouse Chili with the Texas Toast is the best. It looked up on arrival. Host said it could wait 15 minutes, but I sat in less than 5 minutes. I was delivered a cold beer and served quickly. It was the first time I spent under $50 for a party of 4 in time. Very cheap!
While we stopped in the area of Bike Week. Can I just say that the smoked wings are amazing!!! And the horn bread with maple butter won't be better. This is a must if you are here!!!
The staff is friendly and the portions are large. However, the food was more than hit. We enjoyed the pulled pig and the ribs were smoked, but a little dry. The chicken and the brisket were also dry and underseasoned. Next time we're here.
Family of five tried this out for the first time. Kids had cheeseburger, chicken fingers and grilled cheese. Can't get them to try BBQ. I had the single person sampler and the wife had the Joe's rib dip. We got a side or corn bread and salad. All the food was great, really enjoyed the corn bread, Cole slaw and beans the most. Wife was really happy with the rib dip. Plenty left over on the single sampler for lunch tomorrow....yeah!!!
