Although we only had wine and starters we're able to sit at a table on the lawn and the guy who was behind the bar couldn't have been more polite and helpful Food drinks: Two very nice glasses of wine the food was very good will definitely be going back again for lunch or dinner Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Great value

A fantastic service, great room, food and staff. Unfortunately I accidentally left a valuable item in my room and only realised when I got home. I immediately rang and explained the situation, the staff already had the item handed in and very kindly posted it back to me, would highly recommend! Second time coming here for a meal. It's a lovely pub very cosy and nice setting. The food is really nice and freshly made. The service unfortunately was pretty slow and not very attentive. We were waiting around 10 minutes just for our menus and it wasn't even that busy. Since my last visit they also charge you extra for any veg, mash etc. you'd like to add into your meal, instead of including it in the price of the meal. I would return for a drink and nibbles but I would be hesitant to return again for food. This is a shame because first time I visited I was really impressed.

The rooms are great and the location is excellent. The food is fantastic with very generous portions. We loved everything, but wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have everything you need. The village is great for walking around. The food and drinks are delicious with large portions. Overall, the service, location, and hotel highlights (luxury, romantic, quiet) deserve a perfect score of 5.

What a strange experience! This pub-turned-hotel has been beautifully renovated and looks impressive. Our room was lovely and the breakfast staff were outstanding. However, the rest of the staff were unfriendly and somewhat rude. We had to ask them to lower the music on both nights of our stay, and it seemed like they used the bar for their own relaxation after hours. Their customer service skills were lacking, and the service in the restaurant on Saturday night was disorganized and slow. If they want to succeed, they need to improve drastically. We would not stay here again and would not recommend it. Quite disappointing.
