The Lord Kitchener - West Oxfordshire

Booked table for 5 in advance. Roasts were OK but vegetables cold and had to be reheated. Veg lazagna tasted like a microwave meal. Chef came out to apologise and offered a free dessert but to be honest we just wanted to leave. Restaurant was empty, so food should've been better.

We went to this restaurant for a meal with family friends. They had run out of some of the beers on tap, the toilets were not well-maintained (soap dispenser broken and trash bin full), there were weeds in front of the restaurant, and the tables looked outdated. However, the food was decent. The staff could be a bit friendlier, especially considering the restaurant was not very busy.

We visited with friends and family and enjoyed two lovely evening meals. The pub is warm and inviting and, the host and staff were welcoming and accommodating. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious. There were minor menu adjustments each evening, highlighting the freshness of food. I would certainly visit again if we are in the area.

We rented a bungalow in Curbridge for a week and found this lovely pub,so good we used it twice! It had a roaring log burner and we were made very welcome by the host/chef. The menu is short (which in my view is a good thing lovely freshly cooked food! The first night I had the delicious moules frit, a huge portion of tasty mussels in a lovely cream sauce and today I had an excellent home made burger. Other member of the group enjoyed a superb lamb shank and hand battered haddock chips. The service was friendly and attentive and I lived nearby, I would certainly be a regular! I hope the locals are supporting it use it or lose it!!

Our family were all meeting up for a pre Christmas get together and booked Sunday lunch. The food and service was excellent. In particular the range and quality of vegetables which accompanied the roast dinners. The house wine is also to be recommended. We were impressed by how much the service team seemed to care that we were enjoying the meal and the chef even can out to make sure that everything was OK. Excellent meals at reasonable prices.
