They set up a private area for us, complete with a personalized menu featuring the dishes I had selected. Tracy, who assisted me in organizing the event, was a delight and incredibly helpful. The owner even stopped by to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, and it certainly was. The staff was polite, attentive, professional, and always wore a smile. The food was fantastic. I can't praise our experience here enough! I highly recommend this place for any type of event or simply for a lovely dinner. Thank you so much!
I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is delicious, and the specials are fantastic. The service is excellent, too.
For my main course, I ordered the crab cake benedict. I was immediately impressed by the generously sized muffin—it looked either freshly baked or specially made just for them. The crab cake was also substantial and tasted like it was made with real, fresh crab. The poached eggs were perfect, allowing the yolk to flow out slowly so I could enjoy it in every bite.
My fiancé and I will be holding our wedding reception at The Dancing Crane in November, but I wanted to comment about the tasting we had in preparation for that. Avi prepared some amazing dishes and went above and beyond in caring for us. We were EXTREMELY pleased and so glad that we decided to use The Dancing Crane for our reception.
When we arrived, we were the only table inside, while four others were outside. Let’s start with the positives: the place has a certain charm to it, the manager and bartender (an African American woman) was engaged and doing a great job, the Bloody Mary was fantastic, and the chicken avocado wrap was surprisingly good. Now, let’s break down our experience. Our waitress, a young girl, was pleasant, but unfortunately, being nice doesn’t equate to being trained or knowledgeable. It was clear she was on the floor without proper understanding of the menu. She couldn’t provide information about many items because she admitted she hadn’t tried them, and there were instances where she seemed confused about our orders, like when we asked about the parfait. Ultimately, she just wasn’t prepared at all, which falls squarely on management. Throughout the meal, basic service was noticeably lacking; we were left with empty glasses and plates on our table, and when we asked for drink and mimosa refills, we had to do so multiple times. It appeared her short-term memory was quite limited. I ordered the Cubano, only to be told they didn’t have the ingredients. How did she not know this? It seemed there was no pre-service meeting to brief her on the menu. On a brighter note, there was an amazing guitarist there! We really enjoyed his performance. Out of curiosity, we asked his name during his break, and get this—no one in the entire place knew! No one even thought to find out the name of the guy who was entertaining everyone all day long! He could have been anyone, and yet nobody seemed to care enough to ask. This seemed to reflect the overall vibe of the place—everyone appeared a bit out of sorts and disengaged. Then there was the little detail in our drink order. We ordered Tito’s on the rocks with a splash of soda. The first time it came in the correct short glass, but the second time it was served in a tall glass. That’s simply not the same thing! This pattern applied to every interaction we had. So, no, I won’t be returning, but I do hope to find out the name of that guitarist—he was fantastic (and hopefully not a serial killer)!
