Although I usually go there for Halal meat, I decided to try their new restaurant. I placed an order for pickup through the Grubhub app as we planned to eat at the park. The menu options were limited, so we opted for the Chicken Kabob and Lamb Kabob with pallow rice, naan bread, salad, and chutney. The food was decent, but I've had better Afghan cuisine before. The portions were on the smaller side and the meat could have been more flavorful. The chutney was bitter and the overall meal was a bit dry. I had requested white sauce but only received chutney (perhaps they don't have it yet). The complimentary naan bread was a nice touch, but we had too many carbs and not enough protein. However, the customer service was excellent. The staff were some of the friendliest people I've encountered and even offered me a free drink from the fridge. Give them a try as they are new and hopefully they will improve over time. I plan on returning to sample more items on their menu.
Absolutely delicious and halal! The food was truly authentic. Coming from New York, I have high standards for food, but this restaurant definitely exceeded my expectations. We started with the mantu appetizer and then enjoyed the lamb shank qabuli and chicken qabuli for our main courses. The customer service was quick and attentive, even with a language barrier. I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone looking for great food. 10/10!
You enter the restaurant through the grocery store, and are greeted by a cozy dining room filled with delicious aromas from the kitchen. The menu had pictures of everything, and it all looked great. I ordered the marinated lamb shank over rice with salad, but was pleasantly surprised to find a delicious slice of eggplant with tomato sauce and yogurt on my plate as well. Alongside a green chutney sauce and spiced yogurt, the meal was fit for a king, or at least a village chief! Every bite was savored, except for the bone. The dish had a rich and flavorful blend, from the tender lamb to the rice with currants and carrots. Each bite had many layers of complexity. It was clear that someone in the kitchen knows how to cook. I will definitely be returning to try the other dishes.
I've recently become obsessed with middle eastern food, so when I saw this on Doordash I had to try. I ordered the lamb shank with pallow and the mantu. I love mantu so much, I could just eat like 3 orders and call it a day. No exception here, I actually think I like the mantu here more than Afghan Kitchen. (Yes, I know that's blasphemy). The lamb shank was fall off the bone delicious. Super flavorful and tender, I would definitely order this dish again. I love lamb andhaven't had this specific dish before.
I took my grandmother here for a new cultural experience. She had the Chicken Kabob and I had the Shank Qabuli. Both meals were delicious and the meat was fall off the bone tender. The staff were very kind and friendly. I will gladly return.
