Embarrassing time this morning June 13. I went to pay for my 85cent refill for coffee. The female with red hair and Eastern accent accused me that the coffee wasn't mine. I said my husband
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when people are feeling anxious and uncertain about the economy, receiving a warm greeting and a friendly smile while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee can make a world of difference. Unfortunately, it seems like the staff at the West Vancouver location don't want to be there. Not only is the service a problem, but the staff also seem to lack basic knowledge about making tea. For instance, you shouldn't pour hot water over the tea bag before steeping, and adding milk before the tea has steeped properly results in hot milk instead of tea. I ended up paying $3.00 for what I can only describe as hot milk! When I pointed out to the hostess that the tea wasn’t steeping properly due to her method, she responded rudely and walked away. This experience reminded me why I tend to avoid Beans locations: their staff lack proper training and the service is subpar. Thanks for the reminder, West Vancouver Bean.
The service at this establishment is slow, and the employees are not very helpful. It's the only coffee shop in the area.
I want to begin with the positives: the location is clean, the staff is incredibly nice and friendly, and the coffee is decent. However, the food leaves much to be desired. I sampled three different dishes, and they were either stale or resembled something you'd find at Walmart. There are very few, if any, healthy options on the menu, and I'm not even talking about nutritious choices. It's disappointing to see a place with so much potential settling for mediocrity when they could do so much better.
