Katjiepiering - Western Cape

It's changed since I last visited. Garden is looking good but still needs more attention. Restaurant is ok, much the same. Food… Not as great as I remember.

The café is located within the peaceful and beautiful Stellenbosch University Botanical Gardens. The chicken mayo we had was tasty, with friendly service. The price is a little steep — considering the local café and restaurant competition. R95 for the chicken mayo, and an extra R35 for a tiny side salad (the board says R15). Regardless, I think this may be the best spot for tea and cake, and I’m keen to head back.

2 Salats took over 45 min and came without a bread....Price-Value is better in many other SA-Restaurants. Waiter was nice and taste okay. Place is beautiful.

Amazing to sit in the middle of the botanical gardens and have a meal. Very relaxing atmosphere under the trees. Delicious food.

Spent R85 on an omelette smaller than my hand. Very dissatisfied with the service as I was stuck waiting for almost an hour for 6 milk shakes and omelettes. The place is beautiful but not quite worth the wait, price, and quality of food.
