Fresh ingredients, excellent wings, and the gyro was awesome too. If you haven’t checked out this place yet, you need to immediately or be a nerdler and eat a PB&J at home.
If you're looking for diner food that is delicious and affordable, stop in and see chef Rich. He was able to take care of my numerous food sensitivities and I ordered a well portioned Greek salad minus the tomatoes and hot peppers with some bonus celery. Not to mention, fries that taste like fair fries minus the grease! Score! I'm in love with the wonton wrapped Angus beef hotdog (sorry babe). It's crispy outside and flavorful inside was sooo delicious... I could probably eat three for dinner and be fully satisfied (I guess next time I'll pretend I have three kids to score this meal) Word on the street is that the Mac daddy burger isn't too spicy and is heaping with a generous amount of mac cheese and onion straws on top (check out the photo) and is a good late night fix. I can personally attest that the flavor of the jasmine rice is top notch, and it came with Greek dressing and sprinkles of onions and tomatoes on the side. Overall, this tiny spot is a great value and so delicious. Skip those chain stores and support local (you can tell by the grin on Rich his face he'd appreciate it). I know I'll definitely be back!
The Ruben Egg roll or the ghost pepper Mac egg roll? The PB&J burger or their new BBB burger? Salty fresh cut fries or the spicy feta chips? Clearly there are so many amazing choices that it can be hard to pick. Sadly most of the options do not last long enough for me to photograph. The Reuben roll came with a classic thousand island sauce. Appreciated being able to order just one. The BBB was thick cut bacon, Smokey brisket and a tender burger. Looking forward to trying other options next time.
I ordered the Triple B burger, medium rare. I got a hockey puck that was burnt looking and tasting, as well as nice and dry. Not what I expected after hearing all of the rave reviews. Also not worth the $14 and change. If I hadn't gone all of the way home (and home isn't close) I would have returned to ask for a do-over. Forgot the blue cheese dressing with my wings as well, so not a good first impression.
I am so sad to make this review. After going here multiple times and seeing a staff shortage- I have finally figured out why there is a staff shortage- the owner. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but my experience last night was so uncomfortable I will not be returning. Chef Rich’s interaction with his staff was abhorrent and cringe worthy. He was rude and degrading. And it didn’t stop at just the staff, Chef Rich told me that the food I had ordered was sold out and to pick something else, and I was trying to be helpful and said- “whatever you have that’s easy and ready” and he just smirked. I am all for supporting veterans and small businesses- but not in a place that treats its staff and customers this way. I hope this review might give the owner pause and make him reevaluate how he treats his staff.
