If I could give it zero stars I would went there. Got cheese and rice like together and enchiladas. My husband went inside and picked it up. It cost us almost $20 and then literally drove to my work which is in the same town. Went to go get my cheese and rice out of the bag and cheese is just pouring out of my box. Got in my car in the bag called to complain about this was hung up on multiple times. Was told that there was no manager there that spoke English
The first few miles of Highway 51 east bound from Tahlequah have some nice curves. Then the road relaxes and straightens a little. Here and there it evolves back into a few long lazy curves to navigate the topography as highway 62. It is a nice drive to the railroad town of Westville, OK and some unexpected delicious Mexican food at El Sombrero. It is a little building on the west side of 59 just south of Highway 62. They have been in business since 2013. The air-conditioning unit on the north end of the building looks large enough to cool a Walmart. A good indication that El Sombrero will be an oasis when the temperatures break 100 again. It was pleasant in there today! They have a large OkieMex menu and daily specials. My wife went with a taco salad with steak. Excellent grilled steak, superb guacamole, and perfect creamy tasty beans. It was served in a freshly fried, crispy flour tortilla bowl. She rated it as good as she has had anywhere. I think there was some confusion between me and the young lady taking my order. Maybe, maybe not. I will never know for sure; but here is the situation. One of the specials on the chalk board out front was Enchiladas Verdes. That is what I tried to order. What I got did not look like what I am accustomed to getting for Enchiladas Verdes. AND after eating them, I don’t care! I got two delicious ground beef enchiladas covered in wonderful sour cream sauce, with those perfect beans and rice. Eat this! OMG it was good! It took quite a while for the food to come to the table after ordering. I know why. There is no doubt that the ground beef and the creamy sauce were not prepared until I ordered. Fresh in taste and equally fresh in appearance. It was worth the wait, worth the drive and worth the money. This is a rare small town find. The restaurant is small, clean and with very friendly service. The salsas are excellent. Always ask for the good salsa picante. Essential to making a perfect meal exceptional.
