There were 6 in our party, but we had 7 Entrée one to go) we also had starters to share a large salad, several beers and cocktails, plus coffee and even a pinch of milk, and our bill was less than $400. what I think is good for 6 adults! 4 of the six had chickens curry, then there was a steak tip dinner, and I think a Shepard's cake, everyone enjoyed their food. very good service and a nice warm and friendly atmosphere. I will definitely go back!
First visit to McSwiggans after the last 2022 reopening. We sat outside, but the bar looked inviting and just filled enough. Great service! We started with the fried mushrooms (which were recommended on another side) and they were delicious. Entrees were a fish and chips (big fish, well prepared) and a steak tip salad (which was said to be great). Really enjoyed the outdoor area, and our server did everything to make sure we had a great visit. We look forward to our next visit!
Was so excited that this place opened UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP. Previous owners/stands? Nothing to write home. The hosts and servers were very pleasant and attentive. I think the cook is where there is a problem. I grew up in an Irish American home where my mother overwhelmed everything. Even then there was a taste for the food. I never had Covid, but our food had no taste. For the prices they calculate, some should be. Not very busy and food could have been warmer. Another attempt before it is added to the 'never again' list as it was before.
Search for a decent restaurant on the southern shore, relatively close to Route 3. We chose McSwiggan's, as it was close enough, seemed to have a decent atmosphere and a quite diverse menu. Other restaurants were either too far in, or too nice (Precinct 10 in this place seemed like a fantasy facility). Anyway, McSwiggan's delivered to all our preferences and hopes, with one exception. So, it's not a big deal, but parking is super limited in the back building. You might park at the tire place next to the door (if closed), but otherwise you are our luck, as the parking space on route 18 is not allowed. Service was friendly, but could have been faster. They seemed busy when we were there; but not busy enough to take over 15 minutes to get drinks or a check. The food was better than expected, the Cheeseburgers were delicious. Our family loves Burger, and three of us were all very satisfied with our Cheeseburgers. The seat was decent, and the layout of the restaurant was definitely ideal. Bar on one side, seat on the other side (I am not a fan of bar and nonsense in the middle of each restaurant and the seating around that.... keep them separated). Overall, everyone had a good experience and we all agreed that we would come back here if we were back in the area. Four stars.
This is a cool, dark, Irish bar and I love cool, dark, Irish bars. They have a great special on Wednesdays a draft beer and a burger from their menu for $9.95. Most of their drafts are included but Guinness and Magner's are not. The burgers are good too. I had great friendly service sitting at the bar. They have Keno and trivia night on Wednesdays too. Seating is available at the bar and they have a decent sized section of tables. They also have that machine that puts a character in the top of your Guinness which is pretty cool.
