Seats were empty but staff refused to let people sit near the window or middle tables because they were for parties of six. Three separate couples left in the time we were there .. Kinda strange being so *nal about your seating policy when you're turning paying customers away and half the place is empty. Food was very fried and oily.
Let me say one thing, the food at this place tastes amazing! I got battered squid and chips.. with mushy mint peas and home made tar tar sauce.. with bread and butter, I should have taken pictures. My better half got fish.. it cost best part of £9 just for the fish but it was big.. you get a fair amount of chips but not loads.. I was slightly disappointed with the amount of squid I got but it made up for it in taste.. TBH this is an upmarket chip shop with a slightly conservative portion sizes but the quality and taste is good, the prices are on the higher side but you'd expect that for the location of the place.
Want gourmet fish 'n chips? Then you 'll have to say 'might I trouble you to purchase a receptacle of your delicious gourmet Fish and Chips? '. And then queue out the door, as the reputation for good quality food spreads down the harbour front. The harbour fish chips really does provide a different take on the traditional greasy stuff; the decor is trendily woody and stone, the service is friendly and smart and the food is genuinely good quality. Definitely recommended.
Cheap, fast, and delicious fish and chips. The cider they have here is amazing as well. Family-friendly, too which is a plus.
Great eat in chippy. They do gorgeous fish with really crispy batter. All cooked to order and very fresh. Enjoyed the homemade tartar sauce and minted peas (crushed). Hubby had s lovely portion of bread and butter with his. Very reasonable and ever do clean, great service too.
