Our main waitress was impolite, barely communicated with us, and never checked in on our needs. She seemed more interested in chatting with regulars. Despite this, the bill was promptly presented. The coffee was abundant but weak and diluted, which was surprising for a diner. We both ordered ham and cheese omelettes, which were rich in cheese but overly salty. The accompanying home fries appeared to be frozen and lacked any taste, with no additional ingredients such as onions or peppers, and were served cold. Overall, the experience was forgettable. See attached picture for reference.
I cannot speak to the quality of the food as we were not able to place an order. We arrived at 9:52pm and the restaurant was not yet full. The waitress seated us and cleaned our booth, but it took a few minutes for her to bring us menus and take our drink orders. My cranberry juice arrived 20 minutes later, but my partner never received his water. Despite being there for over 30 minutes, we were never able to place a food order. The waitress promptly took another group's order as soon as they arrived, while ignoring us and the table of girls behind us who had been waiting just as long. Frustrated, we left $5 for the one drink and decided to leave. It was disappointing to have been so patient yet ignored for so long.
I dined at this restaurant in the 1980s while staying in Deerfield. The food looked appealing, but ultimately left me disappointed as it was the worst breakfast I had ever eaten. Decades later, I decided to give it another chance on a trip to Northampton. I ordered eggs benedict and found the taste to be strange and lingering. While Sharon's home fries were better than mine, she also did not enjoy her meal. However, the restaurant does have a large parking lot which would be convenient for truck drivers.
If looks were all that mattered, this would be a 5-star diner. When you first see it from the road, you can't wait to eat inside. It's on the greasy spoon side of things, with everything a little rough around the edges. That doesn't give you high hopes for the food, but it is made fresh, which is a delight. The corned beef hash doesn't come out of a can. It's actually chopped up corned beef. The biscuits and gravy has chunks of real, flavorful sausage in it. The pancakes are fluffy and huge. The menu is small, at least in the wee hours when we went. The service is prompt. In the area, there aren't a lot of 24-hour diners. It absolutely delivers what you want from a diner in the middle of the night.
Ain't worth a ****! Waiting an hour for food and they are not even busy! And the beer is out! Plus it's so humid and hot in this place it's very uncomfortable. No tvs and it's run down to ****!
