Saranello's Italiano - Wheeling

Ordered fried calamari and the mussels as an appetizer for a party of 4. It was the perfect amount of food to not get full before your entree. The calamari was crispy and flavorful. We ordered the mussels with white wine and it came out hot and fresh. Ordered the New York strip steak as medium rare and it came out perfectly cooked. It was a bit bland so i added salt and pepper to enhance the taste. Truffle fries were fresh and the portion was enough for two people. The ambiance inside is amazing. They have there Christmas decorations up and it was such a great vibe inside. Our waitress Sarah was phenomenal and made the entire experience amazing! I'd definitely return back to try other things on the menu.

Took seven people for dinner. Service OK. The food was uninspiring. Bolognese was certainly new to me. Pappardelle itself good. Sauce itself. Meh!!! Restaurant nice Much better Italian around

The food was decent, but the waiter came across as somewhat aggressive and a bit impolite. As a parent of three children, I would have preferred if they had asked my permission before serving soda to my kids instead of just bringing it out. Not all parents want their children to have soda when they specifically ordered lemonade. As for parking, it was challenging to find a spot. Overall, we dined in for lunch.

Now, onto the good part. While the food was slightly on the salty side, it was still very enjoyable. Our baby approved of the meal as well. I didn’t check for a changing table in the restroom, but the restaurant seemed very accommodating for families. I highly recommend trying the Old Fashioned made with Bulleit Bourbon; the bartender really knows what he’s doing.
