They do come at a premium but if you need a specialty Japanese item, this is your best shot. They also have limited bentos which I haven't really looked at. They are owned and run by the same company as Harajuku Izakaya and Ohyama Ramen so it can't be too bad. It's a small Japanese market but if you are looking for a specialty item they may have it. We got some fresh frozen ramen with chicken shio broth. Alone it was pretty boring and plain but we added sliced steak, caramelized onions with butter and garlic, spam and a soft boiled egg
No beef despite a $6 up charge for a beef rice bowl. I just got a few tiny beef shavings (maybe 1oz of beef) and a few pieces of tofu. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered it again on another occasion and received the same quantity a second time. Way to insult your customers.
Service could care less about serving customers. Lots of better Japanese options in whistler
It's just ok in absolute terms. but for whistler, i might move it up to 4 stars because of price. i like the ramen that they offer. actually, if you crave ramen, this is the place to go in whistler. the rest of their food? not memorable. but it is japanese run and i don't leave feeling like i just got ripped off.
Fuji Market is a cute, small Asian market. They had cup ramen, rice, snacks, even kimchi and a variety of prepared rolls (usually sell out by 2). If you are craving any of the aforementioned items, it's worth going, esp if you want a quick, fairly inexpensive lunch.
