Feedback gevenThis is the worst sushi I have ever experienced and I'v tried some pretty bad ones. The person making the rolls clearly does not care, because the rolls just fall apart with no presentation at all. Tiniest piece of fish ever in each roll that were room temperature and tasted like spearmint for some reason. I am a 100% positive that this restaurant waters down their soya sauce. My sauce was not salty and was clear/transparent. I confronted the waitress about this and she denied it. Place was empty on a Wednesday night, I wonder why. I don't understand why there are a lot of positive reviews, maybe they have gone down hill in recent months/years. One beer and all-you can eat sushi was 30 dollars- what a joke. I guess its difficult to make half decent sushi when you just don't care.
We went to go to the Keg and it was too packed so we came here. The food here is served fast and with a smile. I really like the shrimp tempura, salmon sushi, spicy crab roll, dragon roll, shrimp tempura roll, spicy salmon. The tempura bits they use in the rolls are unreal. I'll keep coming and coming here.
I visit Kyoto enough for them to know me and greet me with a smile every time I walk through the door. Amazing food and amazing price. Best sushi place in Durham Region!
I really enjoyed the food here and thought it was one of the best around. The crunchy tempura that's used in the sushi that they make is unreal and a real treat. The only thing I could suggest for here is an iPad ordering menu. The staff was really friendly and treated us proper. I'll definitely be back.
Today we decided to order from the Kyoto House, this is something we used to do all the time before other options came available for Japanese cuisine in Whitby. It has been years and the last time I ordered the person taking our order was rude and the food was nothing exciting. Again this time I was on the phone placing an order and the lady taking my order was rushing me through because my call was not as important to her as the customer waiting to pay their bill. I asked her if I was a customer? Maybe she should have asked if I minded being put on hold? In the end our order was wrong ended up with too many handrolls which my husband paid. For because he didn't know how many I had ordered. Excited to get the food we opened it all up and sound dried out teriyaki sauce on the meats and the worst looking dragon rolls I have ever seen , we couldn't even eat them they looked like they had been sitting out for hours the avocado was brown. It was a sloppy mess. We will never return, such a disappointment .
