Silver Star Chinese Food - Whitby

Very friendly staff, very fast service, and always perfect food. It's our go-to Chinese take-out restaurant for the Durham region!

I visit this restaurant about once a month as it is walking distance from my house and the food is always consistent. This is a take out only place and the staff is always friendly. One thing I can say is this. If there is a problem with your food, which in my experience is few and far between, the owner always stands up and makes it right. The food is always of good quality and the portions are large. Overall good value for the money.

I used to live within walking distance of Silver Star before moving to the U.S. I didn't know that they never heard of chicken balls down here or that I could never get an egg roll like Silver Star ANYWHERE else! I drive out of my way to pick up some when I'm home to visit family. It is great food, reasonably priced, nice size portions and FAST! Best Chinese take out food ever! IMHO...

Service was friendly and take out was fast. Got the 12.95 meal for one Special A and Special B. Special A had 2 chicken balls and 2 small ribs, the rest was moo goo guy pan and chicken fried rice in that one dish. I expected a couple more ribs and chicken balls than what I received. I'm sensitive to additives, and I'm not sure if this restaurant uses MSG or something similar, but I ended up with a headache and a rash on my cheek and chest that lasted a few hours. I didn't feel well. The food is salty for my liking.

Quick service on a busy NEW YEARS eve. Fresh food and very nice staff. Gave me free chopsticks...thank you! Still one of the best Chinese "take outs" in all these years in Whitby.
