Captain George Fish & Chips

For many visits to this restaurant I had ordered either the halibut fish and chips or the 2-piece halibut fish dinner that comes with a salad, caesar salad or Greek salad as well.The last two visits have lent themselves to trying the Family Dinner of Five. One was when friends from Costa Rica were visiting and so we did a take out order to eat on our own patio on a nice summer night. The other was when my uncle was visiting from Texas and, as five people, we ate in and ordered the same special. It comes with 10 pieces of halibut, 3 orders of fries (this is an ample amount believe me!), cole slaw and gravy.As always the fish was delicious as the batter on the fish is light and delectable. The fries are always good sized without any overly crispy or tiny hard bits. The cole slaw is lightly creamy and delicately spiced, not overly spiced like some others. The gravy similarly was not too heavy, salty or greasy but instead light tasting. The visitors, who long to get fish and chips whenever they return to Canada, were very satisfied. The takeout service was excellent as we called ahead and told them when we needed the order and came and picked it up immediately. There is a bench to sit on should you go in and order take out on the spot. Eating in the restaurant features lots of light with floor to ceiling windows, marine décor with photos of Greek fishing villages accenting.

Went with my 12 year old son and his buddy after golf.Each of us had 2 pieces of Halibut with fries and cole slaw.Took forever and seemed they served people out of order. Had to go u to the counter a few times and ask about it. My kid finished his pop before the food arrived. Was like over 35 minutes from order to receipt. Was ready to leave.When it arrived it was pretty good. We were hungry and gobbled it up. They really need to work on the slow service.Was like $60 with tip for 3 meals with 2 pop.

Went for lunch today service was quick The batter is light & crunchy but too bad there was very lttle fish with it portion would have been good if there was some fish in the batter fries were good Will not be back

When this place first opened years ago it was great! Then it was sold and was almost as good. Then it was sold again and tried it and the food tasted like like the restaurant smelt. Fishy and greasy! The quality of the fish and batter were substandard to say the least! I would tell people to far away from this place!!!

Pre-ordered two fish and chips. Arrived 15 minutes later and still had not put them in until I actually arrived. One home the fish was very greasy and the chips were either over done or the oil is very old that they were cooked in. YECH!
