I stopped in for a quick lunchGot the one piece cod, fries and coleslaw.
Quaint little place with really quality fish and chipsCrispy and not overly battered fishFresh cut fries done very well.
Really disappointed in the quality of food and portion size at the White Rock Salty's restaurant compared to the Salty's in Cloverdale. We both ordered a seafood platter which had cod, shrimp, calamari, scallops and fries. The calamari was so over fried, really brown, crisp, hard, you couldn't even eat it. Yuck. The scallops were the size of the tip of your little finger and tasted disgusting, you couldn't even eat them either. Never had scallops that ever tasted that bad in my life. The fish, shrimp and fries were okay. We mentioned the overcooked calamari to the waitress who was the young daughter of the owner and to the owners wife. No sorry, no discount off the bill and no apology. She just yelled to her husband in her native Asian tongue about the overcooked calamari. Never again. Don't eat here, drive to the Salty's location in Cloverdale, larger portions for the same amount of money and way better tasting food.
Just like Friday fish and chip night for me in my favorite fish and chip shop back in the U/K. Salty's even better the meal prepared and fried to perfection cole slaw fresh and crunchy with a large lemon wedge. Excellent menu for sea food lovers I have tried the menu over and over again the last few years but I always say the Halibut and Chips the best just my preference. The waitress friendly, cheerful and helpful and the shop always full with us ex-pats. Bill.
