My pasta with king prawns and chorizo in a tomato sauce with garlic was very nice, not badly priced at £12.95, and the portion was massive. In particular Zest didn't skimp on the prawns and the chorizo and the meal was very filling. My sister and nieces enjoyed their Christmas beef dinners as well and said they were good value for money. Service was good and we only waited 20 minutes for our meals. Zest has two pay and display car parks nearby and is about five minutes walk from the main bus stops on Lowther St. Do remember to book at busy times as the restaurant can get very busy.
My husband’s meal was great, usual standard. My pasta special was awful, just not cooked and very hard, I couldn’t eat it. Sent it back and told the waiter but no concern whatsoever or offer of an alternative.. I was gutted because I’d had the tortellini before and it was delicious. Sorry Zest, pretty poor this time I’m afraid.
The food and service were second to none. There was a mistake with our order, and the team couldn’t do enough to sort it out. Great atmosphere, clean and friendly. Thanks.
The food was great and the service was even better. The staff are a real asset to this restaurant. Very knowledgeable, helpful, polite, friendly. Our member of staff, Hannah was absolutely spot on, as were the others we interacted with. We had a lovely afternoon catching up over great food, we had very few interruptions, and yet had everything we needed.
Called into Zest for something to eat when passing through Whitehaven. The starter (crispy squid) was excellent and just the right portion size. However when the main course came(Zest crispy chicken) I couldn’t believe the number of chicken pieces. If I had only had half the number I would have been perfectly happy. No way I was going to finish everything but what I did eat was very tasty. Staff were all very pleasant.
