Empire Pizza - Why

This place is small. There are a few tables out front and a bar in the back. The pizza is great. Love the full on flavor of any of their pizzas. On this night they had run out of a few ingredients. In all fairness it was late on a Friday night. So really have no complaints. We chose the Bensonhurst. It was so good. Perfect blend of flavors. No slice without ingredients. The dough was absolutely great. I don't even like the dough on most pizzas. But this is a nice bread like dough with a good flavor and not dry or hard to eat at all. These are large pizzas. 20 large pizzas to be exact.. Plenty to share. Yet it was so good that we devoured it. I didn't get a chance to take a photo and there were no leftovers. I've tried several pizzas from here and all have been great. The cheese. The elote. All always delicious and fresh. Just don't go here wanting a Hawaiian. You won't get it. They don't have pineapple!!They have several deserts, we chose the cannoli. It was so good. They also have cheesecake and tiramisu. The pizza is available by the slice or the whole pie. So go alone. Go with a friend or do like me and share with several friends. Either way you won't be disappointed. The bar is in the back. It's a full bar. While we waited we had drinks. They were solid drinks. Each of us got what we asked for. One gal thought the drink was to strong. The bartender added a bit more coke and made it perfect. This is a casual place. It has great pizza, tasty desserts and good drinks. Street parking. Open for lunch and open late. So anytime is a good time to get your slice on.

My first time eating at your place. My friends suggested it to get some pizza. She told me that you guys pizzas a very good! So I told her okay let do cause I’m hungry. We stopped by you guys were very busy and all the tables are full. But we waited patiently in line. The door was still open, We both walked in, the young lady at the register greeted us nicely. And so as the 2 guys at the back and one young lady. They were all very friendly! Great guests service! We wanted to order 2 whole pizza to take home. But the young lady was nicely told us that they only selling slices now due being busy. We were fine with it, we both bought 2 slices and 2,dessert. Promptly we got our order! We were going to take it to my car but there was a table open. We sat down and eat there, I was very impressed, the pizza was delicious and the slices are big, and still hot!! I end up ordering 4 more slices to go with 2 more desserts. Now you’re my favorite pizza place!! I rate your pizza place 10 . Great pizza by the slice at the Tucson Airport. Under $4 for a slice of great pizza, a steal at the airport. Service at the counter could be improved. Like maybe a simple hello. Otherwise would be a 5star review.

Excellent NY style pizza, but it is less and less enjoyable. I used to eat lunch there at least once per week. Then they closed the indoor seating area, so you have to sit out in the heat. Yesterday, they had only 3 total tables and they charge an extra 50 cents for a tiny box if you get your pizza to go. They used to have Coke products on fountain, so you could get a refill. Then they switched to cans. Now you have to pay extra for Coke products. The slice and drink lunch special only comes with Pepsi products. A couple weeks ago, I tried to buy a slice and drink combo for a homeless person. They told me they are not allowed to let me buy food for someone else. I give up. I’m going elsewhere.
