Lots of wild life to be seen across the Mersey estuary and a brisk scenic walk through meadow paths a must. Industrial views and the iconic jubilee bridge and railway bridge can also be seen...rangers hut viewing hide free parking and dog walking . plenty of wildfowl and fresh air to enjoy.
I took my daughter's dog for a walk there while I took some photos. I have been before and, on that occasion, I walked to Spike Island to see the Mersey Gateway under construction. It was great to return to Pickering's Pasture to see the Sails of the now completed Gateway peeping over the Silver Jubilee bridge. Pickering's Pasture is a great place for walking or just visiting. There are lots of benches, proper surfaced paths along the river and great views. There's also lots of grass for dogs to play.
Absolute gem of a place. Very peaceful and quiet, some great views of Runcorn Bridge and surrounding areas. Park itself it very clean and well maintained, perfect for picnics with little ones.
A great walk from here, on the trans Pennine trail. Excellent views on a warm sunny day.
