Lotschenpass Hutte - Wiler

Hidden by Kandersteg overnight. Friendly staff, clean rooms, family-friendly food. Unbelievable night sky fantastic views. Fantastic stop over point during your hike. Very recommended.

I was so glad to see this big cabin in the middle of no where. A warm friendly reception, hot vegetable soup with sausages a fantastic cheesecake. All made home. What a treat. I'd give Michelin Stars!

Another oasis in the mountains. Pretty busy, very friendly staff real fresh food soups rustis. Beautiful sun terrace accommodation also. Well worth the hike, although it gets a bit difficult in a place. I went another way through Kummenalp. A beautiful walk over the mountain house.

This is an alpine hut, but the food is as good as that of an excellent urban gastronomical establishment! The beef I had was as tender as honey and as tasty as an afternoon in the spicy maquis of Provence a beef that melted...in the mouth. The soup was savorous and its recipe secret. It's a place definitively worth coming just for the food (a two hours easy mountain trek from the nearby Wiler Lauchernalp cable car), to tell nothing of the sceenery over the Swiss Alps! Bonus: you can stay for the night and enjoy both lunch and dinner. Suggested down trek through the picturesque Gastern Valley, where hospitality towards travelers goes back way before the Romans, the Valley being a passage between Northern Europe and Italy.

After a nice hike from the Kandersteg along the Gasterental and then until the Lötschenpass I finally came to the hut. The staff was very nice, the cottage and the rooms very clean and dinner and breakfast very good! Sure, I'll go back and bring friends. The...view is incredible and it is a great base to make some hikes the next day (such as Hockenhorn).
