Local brews, imported brews, micro brews, macro brews. Cans bottles and even a handful on draft. If you can think of it, if you 've ever heard of it, they have it here. Last night, I got to talking with my colleague about beers and he said Man, there was this one beer that I really got to like in Germany. I wonder where we can find it. So he brought out his handy search engine and it pointed us to Krugel 's Georgetown. And yes, they had this odd German Marzen import that he says is really rare to find in the US. Food is nothing spectacular. I had a pretty good turkey club sandwich and he had a fine enough grilled cheese. But the food isn 't the thing here. It 's the BEER. My only complaint is that all of the beer isn 't chilled. So if you 're drinking it here, they 'll get you a chilled glass. Some six-packs are cold in the coolers, but not all of them. I have never seen this many beers in one place. Yes, I said that before. It 's still true.
This place is a real down to earth establishment. That staff are knowledge, pleasent and just nice. Food is always good. Today was a light lunch which consisted of Wild rice with chicken, accompanied by a Bell's Two Hearted IPA.
You won't believe the beer selection. This is my favorite place to grab a pint of some new craft beer and a big meaty sandwich. 10/10.
Five stars for beer selection! We stopped by yesterday and were super excited by the great variety of beer! We got a growler filled with the beer made especially for them. We also bought the Clutch beer, which has been hard to find in our area. The last place we bought a bunch was in D.C. We left with a great variety to try... because that's what we love to do... try different beer! We haven't had their food yet, but the next time we stop by we'll be sure to bring our appetite.
Stopped in here with my partner while passing through on a road trip from Vermont to North Carolina and ended up wishing we could stay longer to sample their AMAZING beer selection! This place put all of our local craft beer stores to shame and we wished we lived closer--thousands of brews, including a huge variety of stouts, which always seem to be lacking in our experience. The owner, Joe, was extremely friendly and accommodating and we had some great conversations, the clerk was helpful as well. It's been a family business for forty years! The giant cow out front is pretty rad too. Clean and well-kept and the turkey reubens were delicious.
