The waitress was new but she lacked personality, no real manners and seemed disinterested in serving us. No offer of partial refund to apologise. Food we had was lukewarm, bland and didn’t look loved. Such a shame for such a wonderful part of Melbourne.
This is the worst attempt at Mexican food I have ever experienced. It made me feel sick! If I had read the bad reviews before going in, I would have been warned. The food was stale and unappetizing, with the tiniest, tasteless wings and rice smothered in bland mayo. The tacos were overcooked, dry, and stale, with unfresh meat. This restaurant needs to reconsider their idea of Mexican food. To top it off, the prices were outrageously expensive for such terrible quality food.
Sadly we didn’t read the reviews, to our own peril. Service was actually ok, the server was prompt, not helpful, but at least prompt. When we complained the waitress just ignored our complaints, maybe she is used to hearing them. The food was awful, the worse ‘Mexican’ styled food I’ve ever eaten, bland, tasteless. The presentation is just thrown together, messy, sloppy with no care. Avoid.
The food was cold in spots for me daughter. Most meals were mush. The margaritas were tiny and expensive. The seafood burrito had about 4 bits in there. The staff were rude. The meal for five of us was $210 and we didn’t finish it as it was that bad. A few of us were sick the next day.
Great meal great atmosphere. very good example of REAL Mexican Food!. As a current Mexican business visitor in town, Viva Zapatas is a relief trying to have a meal that tastes like home, a great variety on their Menu, kind service and low prices, this place approaches to the real mexican food more than any other place around.
