Indochine Express Monkey Junction

After waiting almost two hours for delivery from a restaurant that only offers takeout, our food arrived lukewarm to cold. While the coconut shrimp were actually delicious, the crispy, crunchy texture was missing. The appetizer portions were a bit puzzling. Entrees are family style, enough to share. Their house special sauce added a pop of unexpected flavor to our yum yum chicken. Quality of ingredients are outstanding. Unfortunately, I can't get past cold takeout.

Fabulous flavor . Red curry tofu was super and spicy!! I substituted rice noodles in Singapore dish and added egg (authentic recipe) but the flavor was SPOT on. Delicious. People could turn their car OFF when picking up their food so us sidewalk eaters agent breathing their fumes.

Indochine Express has quickly become my go-to spot for Asian Fusion cuisine. The food is consistently delicious, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The lunch specials are reasonably priced and offer generous portions. I usually opt for take-out. Some of my favorite dishes include Khao Soi, Beef with tomatoes and green beans, Yum Yum Chicken, and the various curry dishes. The staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome.

The sweet and sour shrimp was disappointing; the shrimp was overcooked. I received just two pieces of pineapple and a small slice of red and green bell pepper, which was not what I anticipated. The coconut shrimp was also overdone. I had heard that the cashew chicken was good, but overall, I don’t feel that the meal justified the $50 price tag.

I really wanted to enjoy this place because I love Indochine on Market Street, but unfortunately, I just can't! The food quality is nowhere near comparable. I know it's meant to be a fast food version, but it barely even meets fast food standards. Using the name Indochine here does a disservice to the original. Last night, I ordered the imperial fried rice, and it tasted like it had been cooked a few days ago and just reheated. I also tried a slice of coconut cake, which was extremely dry—a real disappointment. The only reason I'm giving this a three-star rating is that the pork eggrolls were actually quite good.
