Ledo Pizza - Wilmington

Originally from Maryland, I was thrilled to discover that Ledo Pizza has a location in Wilmington. For those unfamiliar, Ledo began in Adelphi, Maryland, near the University of Maryland College Park, and has become well-known for its pizzas and subs. It had been over twenty years since I last had a Ledo sub, so I couldn't wait to try one again. I ordered the Ledo Steak and Cheese sub with mayonnaise and grilled onions, omitting the lettuce and tomatoes. Unfortunately, the sub was disappointing. There seemed to be more bread than meat, which was a letdown. It simply isn't the sub I remembered. The changes were disappointing; there was hardly any meat and it lacked flavor. The onions weren't cooked thoroughly and were diced, which is a major faux pas for someone like me who prides themselves on knowing a good Philly cheesesteak. Perhaps their focus has shifted away from subs and more towards pizza. I plan to try their pizza next and will share my thoughts afterward. On a positive note, the service from the hostess and waitress was good, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, sharing its space with Rounds.

The fries here are excellent! However, the cheesesteak sandwich is just okay. I wasn't a fan of the square, slanted sink in the bathroom—it splashes water everywhere and is not ideal if you're wearing khakis. Plus, having a television right above the urinal feels a bit too close for comfort! On a positive note, Emmeline was a great waitress. I also wish they would show football games instead of ChiveTV.

I had a fantastic meal! I must admit, I underestimated the portion sizes—my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. They serve very generous portions! The wings were perfect, and the pizza was incredibly satisfying (though I forgot to take a picture). My only critique would be the spaghetti and meatballs; there wasn't enough sauce for all that pasta, and the meatballs had a somewhat foamy texture. Aside from that, we had a wonderful time!

1st time....OMG. This is PIZZA! All caps because it 's so .... old school , make a meal of it, filling, satisfying, flavorful, cheezy, meaty pizza. Uh...we 're going to have leftovers!

Found this little place when we searched for good pizza. It was good. The cheese bread didn't look anything like the picture in the menu and honestly it needed way more cheese to be what we anticipated, yet didn't get. If the bread lived up to the picture, we'd have given 5 stars.
