Mac's Speed Shop - Wilmington

My husband and I dined in Friday afternoon and we loved it! Kylie (I think I spelled it right) our server was so sweet and informative. We had burnt end nachos to start off and those burnt ends are addictive. We shared ribs and bbq with cheddar grits, green bean casserole, baked potato salad and Brunswick stew. All were equally fresh and delicious, portions were very good. The banana pudding was fantastic too! We were checked on frequently and everyone was on top of their game! We will definitely be back as loyal customers.

Food was amazing and the staff was attentive, respectful, and quick on all fronts. The portions for the price blow every other place in town out of the water as well.

First time eating here and we loved it. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Our waitress Emma was awesome! Will definitely be back and will be recommending it to others.

My husband also had the ribs, along with French fries, beans, and Brunswick stew. He mentioned that the stew had a different flavor from what he was accustomed to, but he still found it very tasty, with a more pronounced tomato taste. He enjoyed the beans and appreciated the variety of sauces for the ribs (I chose to enjoy my ribs as they came, with no extras). He wasn't particularly impressed with the French fries. Though we were too full for dessert, we definitely want to try it on our next visit. The total bill for the two of us came to just over $41, which I thought was a fantastic deal. I even had some ribs left over from the half rack to take home. We also loved the hush puppies, which were fantastic, and the Texas toast that came with our meal. The iced tea was just right—not too sweet, so I didn’t have to mix it with unsweetened tea like at some other places. The service was excellent, and our food arrived at the perfect time.

The beef and brisket are the best BBQ I've ever had! And the apple bread pudding for dessert? OMG, pure heaven. The food is excellent, and the service is fast and friendly.
