Everything was so delicious that we ended up ordering extra to take home for the weekend! The arancini, eggplant parmesan, and eggplant rollatini were absolutely amazing. Plus, the pasta dishes are large enough to share between two or three people. We were too full for dessert this time, but next visit we'll definitely try the cream puffs and chocolate bread pudding—or maybe even the zeppoles!
What a fantastic restaurant! The jazzy background music creates a lovely atmosphere, and the service is excellent. The food is simply delicious. We started with the fried calamari, which was spot on! For dinner, I opted for the chicken Saltinbocca. It was tasty, though it could have used a bit more sage, spinach, and white wine. My wife chose the gorgonzola risotto with filet tips, and it was exceptional! My Saltinbocca was served with spaghetti, and the sauce was just right. The spaghetti was sautéed in the sauce, and they generously ladled more on top and underneath. I couldn't resist adding loads of grated Parmigiano cheese—pure bliss! Would we come back? Absolutely! The red sauce here is far superior to many other Italian places I’ve tried in the Wilmington area. Their sauce is the real deal. Well done, everyone!
Unfortunately, it took a long time for our entrées to arrive, likely due to the restaurant being at full capacity. However, the food was definitely worth the wait! You really can't beat homemade pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meals, which included bruschetta, Bucatini All'Amatriciana, Dolce Piccante, butternut squash ravioli, creamy pesto ravioli, and a Parmesan chicken dish that was served with pappardelle instead of spaghetti. I ordered the Pappardelle with meat sauce and meatballs, and I found the meat sauce to be on the sweeter side. The portion sizes were generous, especially for the entrées that included meat—most of us couldn’t finish what we had, and many dishes were hearty enough for a second meal. The bruschetta was a unique twist, featuring basil pesto, sliced tomatoes, melted mozzarella cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. I thought it was delicious, especially since I was quite hungry at the time. We also received complimentary bread, which was a small French loaf served with a mixture of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and fried garlic slices. I can’t say if the bread was warm since we didn’t eat it right away, and it wasn’t covered. Over the course of our meal, about half of the restaurant emptied out. The staff seemed perfectly fine with us lingering at our table and chatting until after 9 PM. It’s not a super fancy place, but it’s a great spot for enjoying homemade Italian food at reasonable prices.
10/10! Absolutely loved everything about this place. Ambience, food, service- all incredible! I am already planning my next trip back! Make a reservation!
Twelve of us dined here for my birthday in July. Been meaning to post my review and photos. It was our first time here and we really enjoyed the food!! DH and I shared the calamari with others. I had the butternut ravioli with chicken and DH had the linguini with clams. Everything was well prepared. The ravioli tasted fresh made and the chicken was tender. Busy place with a nice atmosphere; and you need to call for reservations.
