During a business visit to Hamm we interrupted our conversations at noon and I was invited to dinner. The selection of suitable restaurants is not particularly large in the Dunstkreis of the power plant in Hamm, and as with previous occasions, we drove the few kilometers to Haus Wiemer, which has enough own parking in front of and next to the house. At the entrance we were immediately greeted by a waiter standing near the vault. After the host had called the reservation, the waiter led us to the reserved table. We just sat down when he came back and the menus were enough. On his question about the drinks we ordered various soft drinks, which were also served immediately. The two waiters who supplied the complete restaurant on this day were no longer very young, one clearly noticed the routine with which they served all guests in a timely manner even in a well-filled house. Their friendliness was recognizable only professional nature, with a little more smile they would have gotten better. Food The map offers a wide range of Balkan and international dishes including steaks at even moderate prices. A regularly changing lunch table is offered Monday to Friday, and the program was placed on a separate sheet on the map. The menu can also be found on the restaurant's homepage: [here link]. My companions ordered dishes from the daily ticket, I found my favourites in the main card: “Kasanova Spieß, two bovine fillets, a pork fillet, with broccoli, croquettes and sauce Bèarnaise”. A waiter came to the table a few minutes after our order and served us a soup, probably at lunchtime. It was a “German” soup, cooked in a large pot on meat and bones, with plenty of vegetables in it. Nothing that had torn us from the stool, but solid and tasty. The soups were consumed, the saucers were cleared, and the supplement salads were served as an appetizer sooner. Nicely decorated and colorful they were and also very tasty. Prompt came a waiter and served the main dishes. The first impression was very good, the meat portions were as expected lush. On my plate were the three not quite small pieces of meat, with a portion of broccoli in bright green and the sauce. The croquettes came in a separate bowl and were obviously TK goods, as is usual everywhere. The meat was of good quality, tender and juicy, the broccoli with light bite. Regarding the sauce, I'm not sure whether it was made or whether it was a very good convenience product. Tastefully the food was very good, good enough from the crowd. Ambiente The facility is one of an honorable German country guest house, the passages between the individual rooms are walled with bricks and not plastered. The furniture is made of dark wood, the seat and back cushions of the chairs and benches with bright, patterned fabric. The tables were without tablecloths, only covered with ceilings, on which were a small pot plant and salt and pepper mills. Cleanliness The restaurant was well maintained, there was no reason for any complaints. Glasses, dishes and cutlery were perfectly clean. I didn't visit the toilet, so no statement is possible. Conclusion There are, especially in North Rhine-Westphalia, some of these locals, which are operated by families from the former Yugoslavia. This is certainly one of the better, here kitchen performance and service, here you can go in any constellation.
Last week we ordered food with special requests and by agreement. It worked very well. And the food exceeded our expectations again. Always like that.
The food was more than delicious. We waited about an hour for the food, but I have to say on the farm we were there at 13:00) it was fast. We look forward to the next visit
