Black Horse - Wiltshire

Popped in today and the service was great . The food was lovely and hot and really tasty. It was excellent.

During our visit to Emma's restaurant, the service we received was rather rude when we went to place our order. The tap water we were served had black chunks in it, so we politely asked for it to be changed. However, when the water was brought back with black chunks in it again, we were met with a snappy response from our server, who claimed it wasn't her fault as she had changed the glass. While we understand that it may not have been her fault, my friend, who is very anxious, was polite about the issue and did not deserve such a rude reply. After realizing there were still black bits in the water, we decided to order a different drink from a different server. Our server walked away in the middle of serving us, which was not the way you should treat polite customers.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on our way back to our hotel. We were welcomed warmly as we entered. Despite having many reservations for the night, they were able to immediately seat us. Our drinks arrived promptly, and our food order was taken right after. The locals were friendly and engaging. The food was served hot. I ordered the Mac and cheese with salad, garlic bread, and extra chips, which was very delicious. My husband had the hunter's chicken with chips and salad, and he thought it was lovely. The prices were great, as Green King pubs always offer good value. We couldn't find any faults with the food or service.

The staff are always so friendly here. Children are welcome. The food was lovely. The prices of food and drink are very good.
