Feedback gevenI’d give it a zero score if I could! I ordered a collection as they couldn’t deliver to my postcode. So my husband drove all the way there to collect it. Brought it home, and then found out they messed up my order. When my husband placed the order over the phone, he queried a dish with the staff as we’re not too familiar with extensive list of dishes on the menu and I didn’t want pork in my food as I don’t eat it. But I was sent a dish with pork in it! I don’t eat pork so couldn’t just grin and bear it. I was livid as I was hungry and couldn’t just pick out the pork pieces. My husband called the restaurant to tell them they messed up the order, but we were left shocked with the argumentative guy on the other end of the phone. He denied there had been a mistake and had the audacity to challenge my husband and argue and gave excuses. He wasn’t even the guy who took the order as it was a woman! He kept arguing and saying there was no mistake and my husband should have been more specific even though my husband HAD been specific. He was taking zero accountability. All I wanted as a customer was a sympathetic apology and a refund as we’re all human and mistakes happen. But he refused to give me a refund!! After several minutes arguing, the guy in the takeaway hung up on my husband! I then called him back and requested to speak to the manager. The guy claimed he was the manager and spent several minutes arguing again. He then put me on hold and I could hear him speaking to who I believe was the manager (despite him saying he was the manager). He offered to refund the one dish as long as I could go to the takeaway the next day to get a cash refund as they couldn’t return the money to my card. Even though I paid by card!! I found the entire phone call experience traumatising. I was already suffering with anxiety and he tipped me over the edge with his nasty, rude, challenging behaviour. I didn’t get my cash refund in the end as I didn’t want to see that place again. I threw my meal in the bin as it had pork in it and I don’t eat pork, and my husband complained that his meal was the worst Chinese he’d ever had. We will never be ordering from here again, and I’ll be making sure all my friends and family stay well away. I would strongly recommend you all stay away, unless you don’t mind receiving a random meal as your order with a no refund policy!
After leaving a negative review last year, I decided to give this restaurant another try a few months ago. I must say, the quality has greatly improved! The food is consistently good, very tasty, and the portions are generous. The staff are also always very friendly. I'm happy to say that this is now the best Chinese takeaway in the area again!
I've never had bad food from here and this time was no different. I would have tipped the 7 foot tall delivery lad but having already paid £3.50 delivery for an order of £34 and a trip of just 0.8 miles. I almost walked there to save the £3.50!
Been going to ocean city for a few years now best Chinese place in Devizes town lovely staff always friendly and great food
Being new to Devizes, this was the third Chinese we've tried and it was by far the best. I ordered and paid on line and didn't have long to wait. They have a number of dishes which other Chinese takeaways don't have, the food was hot and very tasty.
