The George In Rye - Winchelsea

Lovely exterior, interior and location. Service almost non existent. Very loud including with young children “outdoor voices”. Food inconsistent. Enjoyed the rice dish but definitely on the oily side. Wanted to celebrate a special occasion but seemed we just waited for drinks and service the entire time.

Fantastic first experience at The George. We went to celebrate our anniversary they made it really special. The waiter was very professional and friendly. They gave us a lovely table, Proseccos desert to help us celebrate. It was a lovely evening. The whole building is stunning immaculate. Food was delicious all the staff were very efficient professional. We will recommend to family friends already can’t wait to visit again.

The menu was disappointing and the actual food was even more disappointing. Very noisy with few people there. Very rushed our table was booked for 6.30 and we were home by 7.30. Wine by the glass was restricted to a choice of three. Considering there is a pub attached. Expensive disappointing night al in all.

Very good place and the food was very good. Totally recommended
