The County Arms - Winchester

Great pub close to the hospital. Ideal place to stop for a bit to eat at luch. Friendly and helpful staff

This was our second visit to the County Arms, and unfortunately, it was a stark contrast to our first visit. The first time we had a wonderful experience with great food, a lovely atmosphere, and attentive female staff who provided excellent recommendations. However, on this occasion, we were served by a male staff member who seemed completely disinterested and inattentive. We had to inquire multiple times about when our starter would arrive, and even after finishing it, we were left waiting without any acknowledgment from the staff. After waiting for our main course for an hour and a half, we were met with indifference when asking about its status, and ultimately decided to cancel our order. There was little apology and no offer of a discount to make up for the poor service. As regular patrons of Greene King establishments, this experience has greatly disappointed us and may lead us to reconsider our loyalty in the future.

This pub is fantastic. The staff are very welcoming and the food is amazing! Jess went above and beyond to take care of us. I would highly recommend it to any parents visiting their kids at university halls. We can't wait to try the Sunday Roast next time!

The service was pretty quick, lovely staff and the food was really nice. Good price for what you get great portion sizes. It was also really quiet Wednesday night which is perfect to have a conversation without loud music and constant noise.

This spot is stellar for a night out! 10/10 recommend! The beers are cheap and bartenders are very nice !
