The King Charles - Winchester

Not very busy on a Saturday eve, we were squashed in a table right in the corner. We had to get staff’s attention every single time, to order food, to order drinks, to pay. Meanwhile there were at least 2-3 members of young staff at the bar, doing not a lot. It’s a shame because we were greeted by a very friendly and gent, but by 3:15pm they’d disappeared and the younger team members were not very attentive I’m afraid. The mash with the lamb was actually lumpy, very disappointing. The macaroni cheese was, unfortunately, really rather tasteless. The only saving grace is the decor and location, but we will not be attending again.
