It was pretty lively for a Sunday but still ample amount of room to pick and choose from. There were various apples to pick from they were all very unique and delicious. I've never went apple picking before but this was such a beautiful experience I will definitely make this a reoccurring visit every year with the family. I talked to the woman running this farm she told me that she is the 6th generation running the farm and it has been open for 165 years, what a blessing this family has provided us with!
We were pleasantly surprised by how much we adored our trip out here to go apple picking. The workers were so sweet and there were very helpful signs up indicating which apples were in season and best to pick! Each row of trees was labeled to show which apples they carried and let me tell you, there was such a HUGE variety! I found it very convenient that they left ladders out for customers to use whenever they need to pick an apple that is higher up. Additionally, there is a Turkey area where you can admire the animals! It also wasn't overly crowded too which was quite a surprise given it was a friday. We will definitely be returning next year!
This is the second time, I've came here for apple picking. It's a nice scenic country drive, the apples are at picking level and there are unique varieties, then the usually Macintosh, Cortland. Nice way to start the fall season with a few friends. They offer the apple picking, which is weighted by pound, variety of pumpkins to choose from...hence the fun sign in picture, cider, cider slushies, concord grapes, pears by pound, jams, maple syrup and activities for kids. The only downfall is parking is kind of tight, but they do a phenomenal job with directing traffic in and out.Be sure to make reservations for your group, prior to heading out to the orchard.
Amy is so knowledgeable, patient and caring towards her riders.
Support your local farms! Came to Blackman homestead farm for apple picking to celebrate the beginning of fall. I love how we entered the farm it they were so welcoming since it was our first time there. They have so many good variety of apples from which we can pick, and pumpkins too. Their farm is so big and peaceful, had such a wonderful time picking apples. They also have a stall for juices, butters, chilli and sauces. We got their apple cherry juice, pear vanilla and maple pumpkin butters. They have such reasonable prices and good for the value! They also have bags of apples and grapes already scaled for purchase! We wanted to try their apple cider but they ran out around closing time, so be sure to get it earlier!! So glad we came to Blackman for apple picking this year!
