There have been so many changes in staff I have to wonder if they get frustrated for working in a sub par situation or there is some bad mojo with this place. Positives: An outdoor beer bar, decent selection of strong brews, all in a cozy outdoor area with plenty of heating for those cool summer evenings. And that's were it stops. As mentioned the staff is always in flux, expect slow service with a strong lack of caring, most of the time. There obviously are glimpse where things are ok as other reviewers have commented on servers being nice and sweet, but this is the exception. Slow service abound, from seating (tip: seat yourself) to getting your first and successive drinks. Food takes for-ev-er and you will not be disappointed if you expect cruddy food. How this place continues to stay open blows my mind. Undercooked, poorly prepared, cold: chances are great you will use one of these descriptors while you try to figure out how they can call this BBQ. Maybe the business plan is to get everyone drunk on 2XiPAs so they can't tell the kitchen staff has a 10% success rate. All that said I still drink here, waiting for the time this place will get it together.
I think I'm done trying this place out. It doesn't fit for me. I've been a few times and each leaves me wondering why I selected it in the first place. Service is fine enough; not great. The last time food was served and no napkins, utensils, or notice to bring any came with the food. We had to sit and wait till we could catch a server's eye before we could begin nibbling. I love a good grilled artichoke and this example was inedible. I ate a few leaves and decided it wasn't worth the energy to even bother flagging someone down to return the poorly executed veggie. It was dry, lacking in any flavor and the aoli served alongside was also bland. It became a lesson learned, don't order it again from here. It looks like they have cocktails but I don't think wine spirits are cocktails. So in my book it's beer and cider only. Overall, just left me wondering how anyone frequents more than once. Oh well.
The 1st time I came here, I came with some family and I had an experience I thought was due to a few inconsiderate employees. Our waitress place our order, yet after waiting for like 15 minutes she came back and said the order didn 't go through, so we had to reorder and to compensate she gave us some bacon cheese fries, which I thought was nice of her. As we were trying to enjoy our food, one of the off duty employees turned a huge fan towards our way because it was blowing off cool air for him and his friends in the beer garden. I was thinking WTH?!? Then he started spraying the plants not realizing the over spray was getting on me. Since it was a boiling hot day and it was early evening I wasn 't in the mood to complain, but now as I 'm writing this I am now thinking I should have. My 2nd experience here, I took my mother here for her birthday. They were all out of fountain drinks, so my mom ordered a mini diet-coke in a bottle (that 's all they had which didn 't even fill up half way with the mason jar glasses ice they provided. While waiting for our food (which was over 20 minutes we heard the cook flirting with one of the waitresses and said, Are you trying to **** on my balls?! SERIOUSLY?! Now I know why are food took so long. My son had to request our check. As we were eating there were at least eight to nine flies swarming our around us. The floors are so sticky that my sandals were stuck to the floor, like the floor hasn 't been mopped in weeks. YUCK! Ribs were burnt and the fries were deeply soaked in oil. Like I said this was my 2nd time there and most definitely my last. I 'm not sure why I 've heard so many people taking about this place. PLEASE NOTE IF YOU DECIDE TO COME HERE: WHEN YOU CHECK OUT, DON 'T JUST SIGN THE NOTE PAD LIKE THE WAITRESS ASKS. SHE AUTOMATICALLY KEYS IN A 20% TIP. (The waitress did this to my grandma on the first trip and on my 2nd trip here the waitress tried to do the same thing.
Great outdoor brewery Spicy margarita is interesting but not enough tequila Friendly staff
Came here with a small group and overall it was good. The beer garden is a nice outdoor spot that attracts a lot of people. The strong point is the beer list, it contains a couple dozen brews of all kinds with many local craft beers. Something for everyone. If the beer is the strong point then the food needs to catch up. The few items we had were mediocre at best. The bruschetta, fries, grilled artichokes just didn't have much flavor. Jaded Toad is a good place to knock back a few but journey somewhere else for food.
