Recommendation from a friend. Places to eat while in Windsor Ontario. Nico's Ristorante on Erie St (Little Italy) would be tough to find in a nondescript corner building. Rod Iron, tiled floors and well used tables where countless families have dined throughout the years. Started with the calamari. It's a must. Tender whole Calamari done on a grill. This is what I came to expect-home cooking, simple and delicious. Ravioli next on the menu. When the menu is short, the food is fresh. Thick, packed with flavor tomato sauce on the ravioli accompanied with grilled eggplant. Although the ravioli were not as filled as I like them, the sauce and a plentiful plate made up for it. I ate it all. The only thing to avoid is the bread. It seemed lackluster and somewhat stale. Not worth the calories. The only thing holding it back from a 5 rating was the bread. I'll be back.
Six star meal.. Amazing diner for my 14th anniversary. No longer order from the menu. Just ask for what ever the chef decides. Tonight had antipasta with rice balls, seafood rizoto to die for and stuffed chicken breast and charred lamb chops. Wow. John, our server, is as real and nice as people can get! Been to the top restaurants in San Diego, San Antonio, Tampa, Nashville, Charlotte and Las Vegas. This beats them all. The food is not just good, it is an art!
This place is cozy and the best part is that their food is actually really good!!!! From a wide variety of selections from meats to pastas to salads and pizza, its all there and it’s all delicious!!!!! Great service and priced very reasonably!!!
First time there. Antipasto is fantastic. Make sure you try the eggplant. The bread was ok. Calamari is some of the best I've ever had. The rib eye steak was cooked to perfection and a large portion. The other 2 I was with both really enjoyed their dishes as well. One had the chicken and the other had the seafood stew thing that was recommended by the waitress. Who was also very pleasant and friendly. Great setting, reasonable prices and amazing food. Erie st gem.
