More people should go here. Super cosy and great grub! The bartender was on her own, but managing well enough the bar and the tables, food and drink orders. Great sharing plates, and the food was good! Perfect to get out of the casino people and eat some home cooked food instead of the stuff at the casino! Great wall of cassettes and cd jukebox! Well done Windsor. We stopped in before the Huey Lewis show, and are glad we did!
When you first walk in the place it is small and dark but you get hit with the wonderful food aroma. My husband and I visited for late lunch and we were both extremely satisfied. The service was good and the food was amazing. We couldn't stop eating.
This was my second night in Windsor and after a not so good expensive meal on the riverfront I decided to venture into town and find a little local place... well this easy it... front window open and good smells. It was not busy at all and other than me maby only 3 or 4 other tables with people and ONE lady working... so I decided to sit at the bar in hopes of faster refills on water... first off a vulgar picture above the beer taps of a scumbag looking dude with fu%$ On his shirt... unnecessary. It took this girl almost 8 min to ask my drink and after walking almost 45 min I was thirsty. AGAIN I guess it's WIERD when a man ask for water only.... geez.I told her I was from Texas and wanted something with flavor... she just shrugged and walked off... hahaha if I weren't so ready to eat I would have left. I'M glad I didn't because I got two tacos.. I can't remember what the name was but it was a soft tortilla over a hard shell with a sauce in between, delicious taco meat with a feta style cheese.... yum they were good. I FINALLY got a refill and asked what's for Desert? ... She said THE BILL, KITCHEN IS CLOSED. It was 8.55pm. Other than the unnecessary picture, stale beer smell at the bar and a don't give a hoot waitress/server/bartender the tacos were really really good, and that's coming from a Texan Who loves tacos. I'D TRY IT AGAIN.
We tried the alligator bites appetizer, which came with a spicy aioli and a flavorful batter. It was excellent. We also ordered ribs, pulled pork, and duck fat poutine, all of which were delicious. The table also had a variety of 6 sauces to pair with our mains. The restaurant offered a wide selection of beers on tap, though the wine selection was limited but satisfactory. Paul provided great service and we look forward to returning.
