I can't rave enough about this place. From the amazing chef to the super friendly servers, it is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The penne fume is so good it haunts my dreams all winter while they are closed. The crazy thing is I almost never order it because chef Alex's off-menu creations always sound so wonderful I can't pass them up (and I'm never disappointed). You just can't go wrong here, but be sure to make reservations well in advance as they fill up quickly.
What a glorious evening. My husband and I went for our anniversary on a Moday. We had to wait for reservations until 7:00 as it was packed. So reservations are a must. I am just out of hospital and the waitress was so attentive to that I had to eat small portions. She was gracious even though my order was small so that was another plus. I ordered penne with pesto parmigiana sauce with sun dried tomato and chicken. Sauce was light and was made with good olive oil. It was delicious. My husband had. The penne with sausage and it was steaming hot with a plethora of great flavours. The meal was served with fresh bread, not an extra charge. Slight caution the garlic is delicious and plentiful but if you are not a big garlic fan you may want to ask to reduce the garlic. Absolutely 10/10 meal..
Save your hard earned money and go get a pizza or burger instead. This place was extremely over priced for the disgusting quality of food. Not to mention the pitiful, family style "shared" portions. $25.00 for 1 shrimp, 1 brucetta, and a table spoon of salad. Then an added expense of $45 for a small strip of over cooked salmon with a cold white sauce dribbled on the plate. And instead of dishing pasta on our plates as should be, nearly after everyone was done their food they bring out a bowl of mushy pasta covered in ragu. With added garlic and oil. Which drenched everything we were served.Horrible horrible place to dine. The atmosphere was dingy and dirty. Though our server was quite nice and did her job well.Oh and I didn't mention you are required to leave an 18% gratituity!I only give it a star because of the serving staff. The chef needs to retire. Not only does he lack talent in the food industry but he was not professional to his staff or customFor 2 people it came to just under $200.And we left hungry
The food here in my opinion is the best in the Interlake. I had the veal with portobello mushrooms, my spouse had the chicken parmesan, both excellent. Unlimited French bread drisled with herbs and olive oil is included in the dinner. Service wise you need to be patient, as its always packed and the owner chef is cooking everything to order, to ensure quality. We came with young children, so it was a challenge for us to wait a little longer. Next time we come without the kids, order some wine and relax.
