I have drove by this place for years as when I did it was always Super busy or closed, it's in an industrial park so the hours as I found after my visit are early morning 5:30 or 6:30 to 2:30. I went alone right after lunch, it was quite and I had a Double Fat Boy and fries. Very delicious. The atmosphere is that of a 50's Diner and it's small so go in off hours. The only thing that threw me was the fries are not fresh, they are frozen but done nicely, other wise I would have rated a 5. Go enjoy!
Visited this little diner for the first time and got just what I was hoping for - a great homemade, full of flavor burger and crispy fries. The waitress was super friendly and the food came quick and HOT! The fat boy doesn't have the fattest patty but the sauces, lettuce, tomato and super soft and delicious bun, top off the burger perfectly. The fries are just frozen fries rather than homemade which I would have expected for a small place like this but they were deep fried to a crispiness that makes them very flavorful. We got there just after 11:30 am on a Friday and there weren't a lot of people but by the time we left 45 mins later, the place was full and people were waiting. There seems to be a lot of people who call their orders in ahead of time as we saw many just come in to pick up and run.I can't wait to go back and try the breakfasts, salads and clubhouse because I'll bet they are all great too.
Looking for breakfast down in Fort Garry, I came upon this listing and headed out. If you like restaurants off the beaten path, this one is right up your alley.Once you negotiate through the industrial zone, you come across this.. small house looking place. Very simple signage.I remember I had eggs and Kielbasa with home fries. Again, like with most diner breakfasts, the food was average, but arrives fast, hot and fresh. For a place in the middle of nowhere, the place was pretty packed - probably a combination of price, reputation, and most important of all, service.Another solid, well priced diner for food that sticks to yer gut.
My husband was punching A & W into teh GPS while I was driving, as we went through this industrial area full of potholes, I looked at what he had punched in and said &*^%! We're going to A & V NOT A & W!!! As we approached I said - teh parking lot is full, that's a good sign. Let's go. Best mistake ever! Scrumptious Chili Burger, wonderful Bacon Cheeseburger and Fries, great service with nice staff. Awesome experience. Very old school with a counter and round stools, about 8 tables too. We will definitely go back!
