Evergreen Restaurant - Winnipeg

A unique Asian restaurant that specializes in barbecue. We have sampled other dishes but keep returning for the lean barbecue pork over rice with a garnish of baby bok choy or gai lan.I have called this a mom and pop style restaurant - on the small side with mom as server-hostess and pop in the kitchen. We have literally watched the children grow from servers while in university to adults.

Evergreen has hands down the best bbq pork and duck in Winnipeg! It is amazing and for those who have issues with reactions to msg, there is very little used.

If you love Chinese BBQ this is the place for you! omg its so good you wont be disappointed in the slightest

In business since 1982, Teresa and her husband have been building a cement-solid loyal following since. I would have to say it is the consistency of quality that is absolutely the cornerstone of this business. A tiny little place, easily missed of you are driving down Pembina, but a MUST FIND! I have tried many dishes on their menu, and have never been disappointed. The best for me however, is the BBQ pork; always fantastic, even better when dipped in their home made hot (chili) sauce. Wonton soup is awesome, I always order extra wontons because they are that good. Pop in and say HI to Teresa, her husband is in the kitchen cooking away, and order anything (pictures on the wall help too), you will come back guaranteed! My mouth is watering right now, I think I better head over there for dinner... NOTE: *She reduced her open days just recently, so she is open for lunch/dinner Wednesday through Saturday.*

We were referred to this restaurant by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Hot & Sour Soup was yummy, not sure of all the ingredients but we enjoyed it none the less. Dishes were tasty with fresh ingredients but we found portions smaller than usual. Service was fast but our fault for not asking for recommendations. We were limited to what we could order due our fussy son, so we'll definitely return to try different dishes. Theresa the owner is fabulous and I'm sure a huge part in why they've been open since 1980.
