Anybody who is a foodie should definitely visit this place, the food is unique, tasty & affordable. Definitely try the olive side dish. I'm not sure is you can still walk in without a reservation since last year but it's worth a try.
Some of the best food in the city. My personal favourite? Koobideh Kabob. Two skewers, perfectly seasoned, with excellent basmati rice, actually plenty for 2 normal appetites. The value for money is astounding. It is my understanding that the entire operation is halal, so, only non alcoholic beverages: try their doogh (persian yogurt drink). And very friendly, in an honest way, not contrived. Finally, I have never seen a cleaner restaurant. The only down side is that, being close to Health Sciences (major hospital) and on a major artery, traffic tends to be heavy and parking is not always easily available, so go after 5:30 PM and avoid having to park across the street.
Kabab palace was a delightful surprise.we chose a couple of appetizers that were flavorful without being overwhelming (salad and eggplant). We had mixed shwarma and boneless leg of chicken Kabab as main courses. The food was as plentiful as it was tasty. All ingredients were fresh, seasoning was perfect. A subtle Creamy garlic sauce and hot sauce were accompaniments. The pistachio ice cream excellent. Wish more people knew about this exceptional little restaurant.
I'll admit that I'm worried for this place. Every time I go past it, it seems quite empty. But after eating here for the 3rd tme, I can honestly say that this is one of the best restaurants in Winnipeg. The food is, quite simply, beyond delicious.Everyone in Winnipeg should eat here! Often. I'll admit that it's more expensive that you might expect ($12-$15 per person) but it's totally worth it.
