Rockwood Urban Grill - Winnipeg

We biked over to this restaurant and there are bike racks out in front! Beautiful day so we opted for the patio. There are some umbrellas so shade is possible. Service was great. Brittany was very personable and efficient. Menu offers plenty of awesome sounding snacks, sandwiches, salads and meals. Several beers on tap and a good drink menu. The Baja chicken club was good and the grilled Caesar salad was GREAT! The chicken lettuce wraps had a nice kick but were a tad too saucy. Didn't find one single peanut. Flavours were good, lettuce was crisp but slightly rusty in spots. All in all an enjoyable lunch. Lots of people there so I think they are doing okay.

Went for brunch with my 2 sons, sat in the lounge...nice ambience but the pleasantness stopped there...it took 45 minutes to get our food, I had bacon and eggs; the bacon was virtually raw, the scrambled eggs just passable. I asked the server for Tabasco sauce and she wasn't sure if they had any (and this is in a lounge?) and then said it was just for Caesers, excuse me? She eventually brought it however. All in all, worst breakfast I've had! Would hesitate to ever return.

Went to try Rockwood tonight . Love the atmosphere and the presentation of the food was great . My husband ordered the 14 oz Kansas steak . Never paid $35 for such cheap meat . At this price should've been the quality of an Omaha steak. He couldn't cut through it. it was full of fat. I had the flat iron and the presentation was amazing but the steak was so tough. The sauce disgusting. We had to ask for better steak knives to cut the meat. Cesar salad was great . My daughter had the cheeseburgers but the meat was terrible like from a Wal-Mart box. Good waitress great atmosphere. Great presentation but terrible food. Not going back. Can't beat the keg and Montana's or tony romas.

My wife & I have been here twice and both times the experience was enjoyable. I've had the Hot Skillet New York Steak (okay but not great) and the Zeek Burger (excellent). My wife had the Fire Grilled Caesar Salad and the Smoked Beef Brisket Grilled Cheese (both excellent). Great atmosphere, friendly service. The south end residential areas needed a local bar/restaurant and this fits the bill. The patio is nice but doesn't have the same atmosphere as the inside restaurant (very plain). We will definitely be back.

Our customer service in being seated was unfortunately quite poor. We were left standing with no one assisting us. So, we just sat ourselves. The waitress kind of took a double look and came over to us immediately. We informed her of what had happened and she was very apologetic and the service she provided us with was impeccable. The food was very good. The manager then came to our table and apologized that no one greeted us and sat us down. She then offered us each a dessert which was very nice of her. My husband and I decided to share a dessert which was very good as well. I felt they handled the situation very well. Our server was exceptional.
