Dairy Queen - WINSTED

I've always believed that the Dairy Queen is the cornerstone of dining in Winchester, CT. While there are plenty of great eateries in the area, like Rowley's, The Tributary, Kent Pizza, and Monaco's Ristorante—all of which I've tried—the DQ seems to be the standout. On this chilly April evening, with temperatures around forty degrees and spring weather swinging between warm and cold, the line was long as everyone waited for their turn for a treat. Not being much of a dessert person, I initially stopped by to grab a hot fudge sundae for my mother, but I couldn't resist treating myself to a cherry red-dipped cone with classic vanilla soft serve. It was a delightful experience to share that cone with my partner. If you're looking to add nuts to the hot fudge sundae, just remember to ask; you can choose between pecans or peanuts. I noticed they had plenty of pecans, which was a nice touch.

My wife and I had a delightful experience enjoying a refreshing Chocolate Extreme Blizzard and a S'mores Shake. Please note that this place serves only desserts, and parking is quite limited.

This is the best ice cream I've ever had! I really enjoy visiting this place, and I absolutely adore the butterscotch vanilla dip.

I've been over for years and never have the time to stop for a contract. Today I could enjoy an ice cone immersed in chocolate. It was good, the correct amount of everything served quickly and with great customer service. My only disappointment came from this place only with ice cream treats, no Burger/Fries combination I found in other places.

We brought our entire girls softball team for an ice cream treat. The service was friendly, and fast. Their soft serve cones and bowls of ice cream with sprinkles really hit the spot. I'd reccomend them for your next ice cream fix. Enjoy!
